SONGBIRDFESTIVAL

Last weekend I went to the Songbirdfestival together with my brother in Rotterdam. The festival had a great line-up full of very good singer-songwriters. My brother and I had the perfect evening!

Newcomer Douwe Bob (Dutch singersongwriter) sang beautiful ‘country-ish’ songs.

I had not heard of Justin Nozuka before, but I love his voice. His songs have a pleasant dreamy ambiance.

My brother and I especially came for Lianne La Havas. We are intrigued by the stories she tells in her songs. Her concert was great, she sang beautiful and she’s such a nice and charismatic girl!

Unfortunately we could only see the last fifteen minutes of Michael Kiwanuka’s concert and we were at the far back of the music hall. Anyhow, the songs he played were even better than the record! I would have loved to see his concert up close..

TEALIGHT JARS

The other day I made these little cute tealight jars.

The jars used to contain organic yoghurt, yummy! I bought the jars in Antwerp a few years ago when I lived there (I was on an internship for a couple of months). I cut straps out of a white cotton textile with a Dutch Delft print and wrapped them around the jars as a band. The light of the candles shines beautifully through the textile!

Currently I'm thinking about adding the tealight to my Etsy-shop. However, I still have to find a way to pack the Tealight jars for shipping. Have a nice week.

LITTLE AUTUMN BIKE TRIP

I had been working for a school project all day inside the house. I wanted to get out and catch some fresh air of this nice autumn evening. So I went on a spontaneous bike trip together with Paul to the West part of Eindhoven (The Netherlands).

DOUBLE-SIDED

Today I updated my Shop on Etsy. I added a new design which I finished yesterday: “Laptop Sleeve Brown Soft Wool Vs. Flowery Grey” The brown wool is so nice & soft and it matches perfectly with the grey floral pattern, I love it!

As you can see you can choose which side to show by turning the sleeve inside-out and the other way around. I also took new pictures of the other designs to show the double-sided option of each design. 

The Dutch Delft Blue can also be turned inside-out to show the Plain Blue side. 

And the Tanzanian Pink has a beautiful clean Off-White Cotton side! Hope you like it as well.

RAINY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Holland knows a lot of rainy Sunday afternoons, just like this Sunday. So what better to do than to stay in and to create a new sleeve design! The sleeve will soon be finished and added to my shop. Hope you've had a good weekend as well.

BRING IN THE GREEN

Now that Autumn has come and the days are getting colder I've decided to bring a part of my Mint and Basil plant inside. Since most of the Mint plant already died, I took the best leaves and put it in a small jar with water to have the Mint grow roots again. As you can see this worked out well! The Basil still dirty from outside got a nice place as well.

After a week I put the Mint plant also in a pot, now its roots are nested in the soil. Together the Mint and Basil live in my windowsill now.

Furthermore I planted some Anemone De Caen and Ranunculus bulbs in hollow bricks on my balcony. I hope they will flower my balcony with colours upcoming spring!
